At Disney Springs, Nneka painted a bold mural that celebrates the power of self-belief. It’s a visual anthem for anyone daring to create their own spotlight—especially when the odds say otherwise.

Nneka Jones designed Sew-By-Number Embroidery classes that differ from traditional workshops. Each student was assigned a unique tile to hand sew - then in the end, all tiles combined to reveal a stunning textured image!

A Series on self reflection and cultural identity with a focus on cultural overlap and returning to one's roots. 30" x 40"  created in 2023

Renaissance Series

30" x 40" series of portraits using hand embroidery and punch needle techniques. 2022

QR Code Series

This series features three contemporary paintings by Nneka Jones. Each painting combines portraiture and symbolism with a powerful message on entitlement, consent and identity.

The QR Code Series uses the organic outlines of female figures and pairs it with contrasting geometric shapes created by a QR code. In a time where digital convenience is constantly evolving, QR codes are often readily and openly available for scanning to obtain information.

However, these QR codes are unique in that they require you to get permission/ consent before obtaining any personal information about these women. If a viewer attempted to scan these images, the codes would not work.

Currently on display at the Tampa Museum of Art.
