This series explores the idea of sisterhood, particularly among women of color. It aims to emphasize that women of color should uplift and support each other regardless of size, shape, color, ethnicity, culture etc. This targets issues such as colorism and strong division amongst black women. By removing obvious differences in skin tones, hair texture and features, the black adds cohesion and unity to the series. It helps to remind us that the reality is: we are all human.
The series uses mixed media by incorporating fabric collages, embroidery and paint.
