This artwork is an original, 1 of 1 mixed media artwork created by Nneka Jones inspired by her new series, Sweet Decay Collection. This piece captures the confident and bold image of a woman looking outward towards the edges of the canvas. Her skin is camouflaged in braids creating an interesting pattern that draws the viewer closer. This artwork captures the beauty in movement, texture and structure of braids and how this has laid a foundation and shaped black beauty throughout different cultures over the years. Instead of this camouflage effect being created to blend in or hide the figure, she stands out from the background and exists proudly.   
 
This mixed media art uses materials like acrylic paint, wax pastels, fabric collage and digital fabrication to create a powerful and textured image that leaves a lasting impression.
